  1. Not having a clear target market: Without knowing who your ideal customer is, it will be difficult to create effective marketing campaigns.
  2. Not having a clear value proposition: Your potential customers need to know why they should buy from you and what sets you apart from your competition.
  3. Not having a professional-looking website: Your website is often the first impression that potential customers will have of your business, so it’s important that it looks polished and professional.
  4. Not providing good customer service: If customers have a bad experience with your business, they’re unlikely to return, and they may also leave negative reviews that can harm your reputation.
  5. Not being active on social media: Social media can be a powerful tool for promoting your products and services and connecting with potential customers.

  8. Not focusing on building long-term relationships: Building a loyal customer base is essential for sustainable growth and long-term success.

What are the Most Important Things You Must Not Do If You Want To Make Money Selling Your Products And Services Online?

These are the 3 most important Things You Must Not Do If You Want To Make Money Selling Your Products And Services Online;

1. Don’t build a product before you start looking for an audience that will buy the product

Instead, build a product for an existing audience. If you are not sure there’s a market for any solution you want to package as a product, don’t waste your time creating the product unless you want to get only customers who bought because they want to pity you.

In life, a good product idea doesn’t come fully formed. But if there’s a market for a product, it will be very glaring from the very beginning.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that you won’t make sales if you do otherwise, the danger is that you will come out with a lot of scars on your body.

The advertising cost of trying to penetrate an untested market will be so high that you will be too rich to keep spending money and not quit halfway.

Such stress wouldn’t have been necessary if you had learned to keep the horse before the cart — which is to build an audience before you create the product.

When you hear that someone made $3 million in 24 hours selling a digital product, he or she already has an existing audience.

Things like that don’t just happen. There’s always a waiting list of people who are excited to jump on the irresistible offer.

While you work towards doing big figures in the future, you can start today by building your own audience (and of course, doing what I said in No. 2 below).

You can build your audience using Facebook, Telegram, email lists, YouTube, or even your blog.

If you are like me who loves to make some of my income while I sleep, you will prioritize building your audience using blogging. And from there, you can start building other platforms.

2. Don’t build an Audience that has zero purchasing Power

I got quite a good number of you laughing the other day when I said that your reward is in heaven if you build an audience on the internet that has zero purchasing power.

Yes, that statement remains valid.

One of the worst things that will happen to you is to build a massive audience that can’t buy anything from you.

You will see someone with almost 500k online followers combined struggling to make a million Naira in a month.

Isn’t that an error?

If you are currently experiencing this, the fault is yours. This is because you failed to train your audience to buy.

By constantly making offers to your audience, you are gradually teaching them how to buy from you.

In a situation you don’t have a personal product to sell, you can recommend affiliate products that pays you a commission or even a friend’s product that you believe in.

Ignore people who believe that only broke people come online to sell. If they call you a broke boy or girl because of an extra one million Naira that is coming into your account every month, that’s okay. At least you can afford to support any charity cause of your choice.

Funnily enough, rich people won’t say that to you. So, focus on the goal, which is to build an audience that has high purchasing power.

Even as a blogger, we target only people that have purchasing power because we are not a charity organization.

3. Don’t be desperate to make a Sale

Desperation is the reason people sell substandard products with a sealed conscience.

A desperate salesperson always ends up frustrated if people don’t buy.

If a customer senses that you desperately want to sell to them, you’ve succeeded in handing power over to the customer — they won’t proceed to buy from you.

Learn to position your brand as an attractive personality so that customers will be the ones coming to you instead of you chasing after them.

There’s a thin line between aggressive follow-up and desperation. The latter can be seen as a follow-up with no extra value to add.

To avoid acting desperate to sell online, learn to manage your resources well so that you will always stay liquid. One more thing is to learn how to make offers so that you can quickly raise money if need be.

Which of these three points do you consider to be more exciting and enlightening?

Let me know in the comments section.

I wish you a great day.
